Infrastructure Projects : Hurghada International Airport Expansion – Terminal Building & Side Facilities , Hurghada, Egypt

Hurghada airport has rapidly growing passenger numbers. Building a new terminal and a 4000 meters runway is a good and needed addition for this airport. The airport is currently working in the:

Construction of new terminal at a cost of $300 million with an annual passenger capacity of 7.5 million. The planned opening date is 2012/2013.
Construction of a second 4,000m runway.

Dar Al Handasah is providing design and supervision and Al Marasam International for Development is providing the construction for the new passenger terminal building that will cater to international and domestic flights to one of Egypt's popular touristic destinations. With an overall capacity of 7.5 million passengers per year, the 3 level terminals will have a total built-up area of 90,000 m features:

9 contract gates (5 with single and 4 with double passenger loading bridges).
72 check in countries in addition to out gauge (OOG) counter.
18 and 16 passport control booths for departure and arrival respectively.
9 baggage claim carrousels and 6 outbound baggage handling system.
5-level security control system.

Awarded Scope	Dar Al Handassa awarded Argonaut the supply of the new terminal's ventilation system. As the distributor for Systemair in Egypt, we will supply all the ventilation system. Exhaust Fans in line centrifugal. Fresh air fans with Carbon filters Kitchen Ecology unit. Transformer Room Axial Exhaust fans.
